Sekhukhune United have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the signing of Manuel Sapunga from PSL rivals Polokwane City FC.
In the past few days, Sekhukhune have been unveiling new players for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. The Limpopo-based side has welcomed high-profile names such as Bradley Grobler, Miguel Timm, and Sphiwe Mahlangu.
Timm joined Babina Noko on a free transfer after parting ways with Orlando Pirates at the end of last season, while Grobler and Mahlangu joined from SuperSport United and TS Galaxy, respectively.
Sekhukhune are intensifying their preparations for the new season, looking to compete with big teams for domestic trophies.
Last season, Sekhukhune United had a good run of form in the league after finishing fourth on the league table with 46 points in 28 games.
Despite proving to be one of the formidable teams in the league, Sekhukhune parted ways with head coach Lehlohonolo Seema. The former Golden Arrows mentor was replaced by Eric Tinkler, who was also fired at Cape Town City FC.

The 33-year-old goalie has been one of the outstanding players in PSL, establishing himself as a regular starter with Rise and Shine.
Sapunga spent two seasons with Polokwane City and kept 19 clean sheets in 44 appearances across all competitions.
Sekhukhune confirmed the acquisition of Sapunga on Saturday, 12 July.
“Manuel Sapunga has put pen to paper with Sekhukhune United,” the club said on social media platforms.
Meanwhile, the Simon Malatji-owned team has parted ways with two shot stoppers, Badra Ali Sangare and Lloyd Kazapua, leaving Renaldo Leaner as the only goalkeeper in the first team before Sapunga’s arrival.
