Betway Premiership side Golden Arrows have moved swiftly to sign six players from newly promoted side Midlands Wanderers FC. Midlands Wanderers are one of the three teams to secure promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship for next season.
They were joined by Gomora United from Gauteng and The Bees from Mpumalanga at the recent SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs held in Soshanguve.
The promotional playoffs are being challenged in court by Sinenkani FC from the Eastern Cape, as well as Sunrise FC from Limpopo.

During the playoffs, Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi was also spotted at the camp playing a motivational role. On Saturday, the club confirmed via a statement that they have lost six of their players to Abafana Bes’thende.
“We are delighted to officially announce that six players from Midlands Wanderers FC have successfully signed first-team PSL contracts with Golden Arrows FC,” the club said in a statement.

“It is also heartwarming to announce that these boys are the product of the Midlands Academy of Sports. We wish them the best of luck, and we canโt wait to see them playing in the PSL.
“We remain committed to providing youngsters with advanced scientific support that enhances their talent and ensures that we open doors for them to play in the PSL and abroad,: they wrote.

The players have already joined the Arrows camp as they prepare for the 2025/26 season. The PSL have announced that the season will commence on 1 August with MTN8 fixtures followed by the Betway Premiership.
