Cape Town City appoint new head coach

Jan Vreman giving instructions at second division side De Graafschap

Relegated side Cape Town City FC has announced Jan Vreman as their new head coach, as the club prepares for life in the second-tier league.

The Citizens recently suffered a setback as they were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. As a result, the club parted ways with many of their senior players.

And as they are set to play in the second-tier league in the upcoming season, Vreman will lead the charge. He is aย Dutch coach and former player who was most recently in charge of second-division side De Graafschap in his native country.

He takes over from Diogo Peral, who has been in charge on an interim basis towards the end of the 2024/25 season. Peral took over from Muhsin Ertugral, who had initially joined the club as a technical director and interim coach.
