As the transfer window heats up, two Orlando Pirates midfielders, Goodman Mosele and Azola Tshobeni, underwent medicals on Monday ahead of their proposed loan moves to Chippa United.
Tshobeni and Mosele have landed in Gqeberha ahead of their season-long loan deals at Chippa for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership.
The duo has struggled to cement a regular starting berth at Pirates in the previous campaign as the club finished as runners-up in the league and reached the CAF Champions League final.
Last season, under the leadership of head coach Jose Riveiro, Pirates used Makhehlene Makhaula, Thalente Mbatha, Patrick Maswanganyi, and Kabelo Dlamini in the central midfield position.
Mosele has found it difficult to break into the Pirates team since signing from Baroka FC in 2021. After the limited game time at the Sea Robbers, the 25-year-old was sent out on loan to the Chilli Boys in the 2023/24 season.
GOODMAN MOSELE GOING FOR HIS SECOND LOAN SPELL AT CHIPPA UNITED
The talented midfielder regained his form at Chippa after featuring in 25 matches across all competitions and scored one goal. Moseleโs impressive form saw him return to his parent club last season; however, he only managed to play seven matches in all competitions, scoring one goal.

Meanwhile, Tshobeni, who came through the Pirates development ranks in 2020, has also struggled for regular playing minutes.
The left-footed midfielder had a three-season loan stint with Motsepe Foundation Championship side JDR Stars, from 2020 to 2023.
After establishing himself as a key man at JDR, Tshobeni made his way back to Pirates; however, he had a limited contribution on the pitch.
With Chippa building a competitive team for the next season, Mosele and Tshobeni have completed their medicals to join the Sinethemba Badela-coached team. The pair will aim to make a meaningful impact at the Eastern Cape-based side, bringing their careers back on track.
