While the club has yet to confirm its sale, new name, and relocation, FARPost has established the name that the new owners of JDR Stars intend to use, pending approval from the PSL.

As this publication reported, JDR Stars have been bought by businessman Lister Makatoane from Nnditsheni Nemasisi.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship side will now relocate to Limpopo. They have already begun with their pre-season camp under the guidance of coach Stanford Nkoane.

Nkoane recently parted ways with Venda FC. They are also reportedly eying Kameelrivier Stadium as their home stadium for the season.

WHAT IS THE NEW NAME OF MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE JDR STARS?

As it was first called by Mabaleng Sports Centre on Saturday, JDR Stars are set to be renamed Leicesterford City FC.

The Leicesterford name is not entirely new to owner Makatoane. According to the records seen by FARPost on the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission [CIPC], the name was registered as far as 2022 by the new JDR owner and other co-directors.

Meanwhile, the club has reportedly appointed former Venda FC general manager Malebo Mogomotsi to take the role of an administrator.

WHO ARE SOME OF THE NEW PLAYERS SPOTTED AT THE NEW PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE CLUB?

This publication has gathered that the team has invited some players for trials ahead of the new season. They have also kept most of the players who were with JDR Stars in the past season.

Among some of the players this publication has seen is former Polokwane City FC and Marumo Gallants Kenneth Nthatheni. Nthatheni parted ways with the Betway Premiership side at the end of last season.

The experienced defender spent some time at Polokwane City, Black Leopards and Orlando Pirates reserves.
