Saudi Pro League side Al-Okhdood has reportedly parted ways with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona. The 35-year-old joined Al-Okhdood last season after a stint at Al Riyadh. In 30 appearances for the club, he scored five goals and provided three assists.

Although his contract had an option to be extended by another year, the club chose not to exercise it. Musona was released along with six other players, including Nigerian Saviour Godwin and Guinea star Ousmane Barry.

Damion Lowe and the Brazilian trio of Paulo Vitor, Petros Matheus, and Diego Souza complete the list. Musona will be seeking a new opportunity after leaving Al-Okhdood, as he remains eager to play.

Al-Okhdood was his third club in the Saudi Pro League, having also played for Al Tai and Al Riyadh.

As he faces this decisive moment of his career, which is in its twilight, Zimbabweans will be keen to learn his next steps, crucially, as he is expected to be in fine fettle ahead of the 2025 AFCON tournament.

Musona initially retired from international football in May 2022 after captaining Zimbabwe at the 2021 AFCON edition. He came out of retirement after a three-year hiatus and was part of the team that faced Benin and Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

His return came as a surprise, and the Zimbabwe national team coach said that it was the best step to take to revive the team. In South Africa, Musona remains one of the most celebrated Zimbabwean strikers, having excelled for Chiefs.

The prolific goal-poacher scored over 40 goals and 19 assists for Kaizer Chiefs during his two stints with The Glamour Boys. He accounted for multiple awards in the gold and black jersey, including the coveted Golden Boot Award.
