Striker Joslin Kamatuka has departed newly-promoted Betway Premiership side Durban City FC, following on the heels of veteran attacker Ruzaigh Gamildien, who also left the club.
The Namibian international’s departure marks an end to a two-season stint with the KZN side, having joined the club at the start of the 2023/24 season.
Kamatuka and Gamildien were instrumental in Durban City’s promotion to the Betway Premiership. Their significant contributions came under the leadership of Simo Dladla, who has also since parted ways with the club.
The former Baroka FC forward, Kamatuka, even earned a nomination in a brand-new category at the PSL Awards: the Motsepe Foundation Championship Players’ Player of the Season. He stands alongside Banele Hlophe [JDR Stars] and Muzomuhle Khanyi [Hungry Lions] as the first set of nominees for this prestigious award.
Kamatuka is said not to have agreed on new terms with the club after City reportedly presented a low offer for the 33-year-old centre-forward ahead of the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
On the other hand, Gamildien has reportedly been informed by Durban City’s management that he’s been excluded from the squad for the upcoming season.

GAMILDIEN ATTRACTS INTEREST FROM PSL CLUBS
The former Royal AM man, Gamildien, has since attracted interest from several PSL clubs as he looks to embark on a new chapter.
Furthermore, Durban City are continuing to strengthen their squad for what promises to be a challenging season for them in the top-flight.
As previously reported by FARPost, the KZN-based club recently won the race to sign striker Thabang Sibanyoni, who spent the last week training with the Gavin Hunt-led side.
Durban City are also set to sign former Cape Town City FC duo Haashim Domingo and Darren Keet, who arrived in Durban on Sunday afternoon.
Both players are poised to link up once again with coach Gavin Hunt, who recently assumed leadership from Dladla. Hunt had previously mentored both players during his successful tenure at Bidvest Wits.
