Former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Keabetswe Ramotsei is training with Chippa United as he looks to return to the Betway Premiership.

Chippa are currently on a quest to build a competitive team that can push big clubs in the chase for major trophies in the upcoming season.

The Chilli Boys have gone out to the transfer market to bolster their squad with some exciting players. Chippa have signed Goodman Mosele, Azola Tshobeni, Bandile Dlamini, Justice Figuareido, Khaya Mfecane, and Abdoulaye Mariko.

The new players are expected to play a big role in the Chippa team that will be led by new head coach Sinethemba Badela.

Following the exit of Thabo September, Chippa appointed Badela to steer the ship. In the previous season, the highly-rated coach accumulated experience in the colours of Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca as the assistant coach to Rulani Mokwena.

Meanwhile, Chippa United have also appointed former Kaizer Chiefs scout Sinesipho Mali as the sporting director. With the Chippa technical team looking to bring more new faces, they are assessing Keabetswe Ramotsei, who came through the Sundowns development ranks.

Last season, the talented midfielder was on loan at the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC from Sundowns.

In the January transfer window, Sundowns terminated Ramotseiโ€™s contract, and Venda FC signed him permanently for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

Ramotsei worked with Badela when he was coaching the Sundowns DStv Diski Challenge side in the 2023/24 campaign. The left-footed youngster made his first team debut for the Brazilians in October 2023 in the Carling Knockout Cup Last 16 against TS Galaxy.

Ramotsei is eager for a return to top-flight football with the Eastern Cape-based outfit to revive his promising career.
