Orlando Pirates defender Yanga Madiba has joined new Betway Premiership side Orbit College FC on a season-long loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

The Mswenko Boys gained promotion to the elite league through the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs last month. Orbit outsmarted Cape Town City FC and fellow NFD team Casric Stars to book a spot in the Premiership.

The Rustenburg side made it to the playoffs after finishing as runners-up in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, with Durban City FC clinching automatic promotion by virtue of winning the second-tier league title.

Meanwhile, the North West-based side was competing with CT City, who finished 15th on the league table in the top-flight, while Casric qualified for the playoffs after finishing in third position in the second-tier.

Following Orbit College’s promotion to the top league, they have started preparing for the 2025/26 campaign. They already made a major transfer coup after signing Monnapule Saleng on loan from the Buccaneers.

The highly-rated winger returned to a club where he made a name for himself before breaking into the professional ranks.

Following the signing of Saleng, Orbit have also concluded a loan move for Pirates left-back Yanga Madiba. The 23-year-old will have a second loan spell with Orbit, having spent the 2023/24 season in the second division with the club.

Madiba was given an opportunity to fight for his position at Pirates in the previous season under Jose Riveiro. However, he could not feature regularly in the starting line-up.

The wing-back only managed to feature in three matches in the league as Deon Hotto was the preferred choice in the left-back position.

FARPost has established that Madiba has already arrived in North West to begin life with Orbit College. The talented defender will aim to impress during his loan stint and return to Pirates to fight for regular playing time.
