Some of the key dates, including the Soweto derby, domestic cup finals, and the season-end date, have been revealed in the latest 2025/26 PSL draft fixture.
The PSL draft fixtures have been released to member clubs as the new season kicks off. As FARPost has earlier reported, the season will kick off on the weekend of August 2 with MTN8 fixtures.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE KEY DATES IN THE PSL DRAFT FIXTURES?
According to the draft fixture schedule, the MTN8 Final is set to take place on Saturday, September 13. The Carling Knockout will kick off on the weekend of October 4, just two days before the FIFA International break.
The first clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will take place on Saturday, 1 November, with the return fixture on Saturday, 31 January.
There will be a month-long break between December 21, 2025 and January 20, 2026 due to the Africa Cup of Nations. But before the break, the Carling knockout final will take place on Saturday, December 6, followed by the Carling Cup a week later.
The Nedbank Cup will kick off on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with a last-32 round of fixtures.
WHEN IS THE SOWETO DERBY BETWEEN KAIZER CHIEFS AND ORLANDO PIRATES TAKING PLACE?
Interestingly, the first fixture of the Soweto Derby will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, when Kaizer Chiefs host Orlando Pirates. The second round fixture of the Soweto derby will take place on Saturday, 25 April 2026.
Saturday, May 2, is the scheduled date for the 2026 Nedbank Cup Final, 20 days before the Betway Premiership season concludes on May 23. The PSL Promotion playoffs will kick off on May 26 and run until Saturday, June 13, 2026.
