Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has explained why Kamogelo Sebelebele is a perfect fit for Orlando Pirates.

The Buccaneers announced the signing of Sebelebele from TS Galaxy earlier this week, marking another major transfer coup for the club.

Pirates have made some of the best signings in the current transfer window as they prepare to compete for all trophies in the upcoming season.

The Sea Robbers have snapped up big names such as Oswin Appollis, Sipho Mbule, Sihle Nduli, Yanela Mbuthuma, Tshepang Moremi, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Masindi Nemtajela, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, and Tshepho Mashiloane.

As part of the preparation for the 2025/26 campaign, Pirates embarked on a pre-season tour to Spain, with new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou taking the players through their paces.

The Soweto giants have been involved in a handful of friendlies with top European clubs as Ouaddou instils his ideas.

A few days ago, Pirates made yet another signing after capturing the signature of talented attacker Sebelebele, who made his name at TS Galaxy.

Last season, the Tembisa-born winger featured in 29 matches and scored five goals. The 22-year-old was also part of the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2025 COSAFA Cup, where he was named in the team of the tournament.

WHAT LETSHOLONYANE SAID ABOUT SEBELEBELE’S QUALITIES

The ex-Chiefs midfield maestro says Sebelebele has similar qualities to Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis; however, he can also play as a striker.

“I was fortunate enough to have worked with Kamogelo in COSAFA and CHAN. He’s a good player with the right attitude,” Letsholonyane said on Omni Audio Africa.

“I’m not surprised to see Orlando Pirates signing him because he deserves that. So he adds on the quality of Oswin Appollis and Rele [Mofokeng].

“He gives you the same possibilities, but he can even play as a striker. If you are a coach who wants to play with a false 9, then Kamogelo gives you that.

“And another thing is that he wants to win every game he plays, tired or not tired, he’ll leave everything on the field until the last whistle, so that’s one positive signing for Pirates, and I’m happy for Kamogelo, he deserves this move.”
