Former Richards Bay FC attacking midfielder Thato Mohlamme was recently unveiled as one of six new signings for Orbit College. His contract details have now emerged following the announcement.
The North West side has made a couple of reinforcements as they prepare for what’s going to be a challenging debut campaign for it in the Betway Premiership.
The ‘Mswenko Boys’ ascended to the PSL’s top-tier after winning the league’s Promotional/Relegation Playoffs, with Cape Town City FC relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
On Friday, the club announced six new signings and unveiled new jerseys for the 2025/26 season.
Aside from Mohlamme, other players who were unveiled include the on loan trio from Orlando Pirates – Thuso Moleleki, Yanga Madiba and Monnapule Saleng.
Further strengthening their squad, Orbit College also secured the signatures of Yamkela Gamede, formerly with Hungry Lions, and Lucky Malatsi, who arrived from Lerumo Lions.

HOW LONG IS THATO MOHLAMME’S CONTRACT AT ORBIT
Meanwhile, it appears Mohlamme, who is the son of Orlando Pirates legend Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, penned a two-year deal and an option to extend for another year with the club.
Mohlamme signed for the newly-promoted side on a free transfer after parting company with the KZN-based outfit Richards Bay.
The 26-year-old midfielder’s exit from the Natal Rich Boyz marked the end of a stint that began at the start of the 2023/24 season when he joined the club from the now-defunct Uthongathi FC.
He barely featured last season, making only ten appearances across all competitions – eight in the Betway Premiership, one in the Carling Knockout Cup and one in the Nedbank Cup.
In total, Mohlamme only made 19 appearances for Richards Bay in all competitions, netting two goals in the process during his stint there.
His exit was part of a larger movement for the club, as the Zululand outfit also released several other players.
