Orlando Pirates have offered DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] star, Neo Mokoena, a first-team contract ahead of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

Pirates have gone guns blazing in the transfer market, signing big-name players, bolstering their squad to compete for major trophies.

The Buccaneers completed the signing of players such as Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi, Sipho Mbule, Sihle Nduli, Yanela Mbuthuma, Tshepho Mashiloane, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Masindi Nemtajela, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, and Kamogelo Sebelebele.

Pirates also welcomed the new players after ending the previous season as runners-up in the league and also reaching the CAF Champions League semi-final.

The Soweto giants are undergoing wholesale changes after the departure of their head coach, Jose Riveiro, who has joined Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Last month, Pirates announced the appointment of Abdeslam Ouaddou as the replacement for Jose Riveiro. The Moroccan mentor joined the Sea Robbers after parting ways with Marumo Gallants at the end of last season.

Ouaddou is currently on a pre-season tour in Marbella, Spain, with Pirates, preparing the team for the upcoming campaign that kicks off on August 2nd with the MTN8.

In a move to further strengthen the squad, Pirates have promoted talented winger Neo Mokoena, following his impressive performances in the reserve league. His agency, P Management Sports, confirmed the news on social media.

The youngster is a utility player who can play on both wings, and he possesses the skills and explosive pace to unlock defenders and score goals.

Mokoena’s promotion comes shortly after the Ghosts sold one of their talented winger, Mohau Nkota, to the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq FC.

Nkota, who came through the Pirates’ development ranks, had an impressive breakthrough season in the senior team. The left-footed attacker featured in 39 appearances across all competitions. He scored seven goals and provided five assists.
