Ricky Joseph, the director and head of Kappa South Africa, has offered an intriguing insight into Kaizer Chiefs’ new jersey sales, drawing a comparison to the previous two seasons.
After ending the last season on a high note with the Nedbank Cup victory, Kappa unveiled the clubโs new home and away kits for the 2025/26 season.
This marks the third season since the Italian sportswear giant and Amakhosi reunited at the start of the 2023/24 campaign. The two entities described the new jerseys as a blend of football and culture, stating, โboth home and away tops represent a bold celebration of the game beyond the pitch.โ
Inspired by African art and creativity, the designs reflect the heartbeat of the community. The home jersey is distinctive and unmistakably Chiefs, featuring a predominantly gold body that pays homage to the clubโs traditional colours.
It is complemented by striking black patterns on the sleeves and a stylish black collar, incorporating modern designs that celebrate Amakhosiโs rich culture. The away jersey, featuring a striking grey and gold design, is accentuated with subtle camouflage patterns.
WHAT REVELATION DID KAPPA MAKE ON THE NEW JERSEY SALES
Joseph revealed that the current jersey has pre-sold more pieces than the previous two seasons.

โI can tell you now that weโve pre-sold more jerseys for this third season than for all previous seasons combined,โ he told journalists. โI think that itโs an indication of the excitement with the fans.โ
He believes โwinning the Nedbank Cup has given the fans more belief and more reason to buy.โ Joseph added that โthe sales after the Nedbank Cup trophy win were incredible.โ
Kappa anticipates that they will have to cater to additional top-up orders later this year as most of the pre-orders were made before the Nedbank triumph. โThis third season is looking very optimistic in terms of the purchases from the retailers.โ
Chiefsโ marketing and commercial director, Jessica Motaung, said it promises to be a great season ahead with the club celebrating its 55th anniversary by winning a major trophy and qualifying for CAF competition.
The merchandise is now available for purchase at Kaizer Chiefs Retail in the Village at Naturena, Kappa retail stores nationwide, online at www.kcdigistore.com, and at other leading sports retailers. Each jersey is priced at R1299, the same as last season.
The Glamour Boys will be seen in the home and away kits on Saturday when the team takes on Asante Kototo of Ghana in the first official friendly match, dubbed the Toyota Cup, hosted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
