Chippa United are in talks with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro, with Tanzania’s Azam FC and newly acquired Siwelele FC also eyeing the player.
Chivaviro will be looking to get his career back on track following his exit from Chiefs. The 32-year-old forward left Amakhosi at the end of his contract in June after spending two years at the club.
Formerly with Marumo Gallants, the experienced striker scored 26 goals over the past three seasons, making him an attractive prospect for several clubs.
FARPost sources confirmed the player has been in discussions with the Chilli Boys, who are assembling a new squad.
The Eastern Cape outfit released 18 players including Andile Jali, Ronaldo Maarman, Craig Martin, Justice Tshabalala and Bienvenu Eva Nga.
Siwelele, who purchased the Betway Premiership status of SuperSport United, are looking to replace veteran forward Bradley Grobler, who recently joined Sekhukhune United. They also lost Terrence Dzvukamanja, who returned home to join Scottland FC.

In Tanzania, Chivaviro has caught the interest of Azam, who recently appointed revered Congolese mentor Florent Ibenge.

However, the Gqeberha-based club is currently in the lead to secure his signature. The team recently made several changes to their technical staff. Newly appointed sporting director Sinesipho Mali brought in Sinethemba Badela as head coach, with Musa Nyatama serving as his assistant.
Badela takes over from Thabo September, who left the club after his contract expired at the end of last season.
They are now focused on building a strong squad for the upcoming season. The club has already signed players such as Sammy Seabi, Bandile Dlamini, Justice Figuareido, Khanya Mfecane, Azola Tshobeni, and Goodman Mosele.
Additionally, former Richards Bay FC striker Somila Ntsundwana and Thulani Mini are also linked with the team.
