Newly promoted side Durban City FC have moved swiftly to boost their goalkeeping department with the signing of ex-Cape Town City FC goalie Darren Keet.
The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper spent the past four seasons at the Citizens, who have now been relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. CT City suffered relegation via the 2024/25 campaign PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs.
On the other hand, Durban City have been beefing up their playing personnel as well as the technical staff ahead of the new season.
Some of the seasoned players who have been training with the club include Haashim Domingo, Thabo Nodada, Thulani Hlatshwayo, and Thabang Sibanyoni. Durban City have brought in an experienced coach in Gavin Hunt, who has four premiership titles under his belt.

The 35-year-old Keet brings a wealth of experience to the team, with a career spanning over 16 years, playing both locally and abroad.

Meanwhile, the club also announced the signing of Trevor Mokwena from Upington City FC and Brooklyn Poggenpoel, formerly of SuperSport United. The 25-year-old Poggenpoel only spent a season at Matsatsantsa a Pitori before they were sold to Siwelele FC.
Mokwena, on the other hand, is a 24-year-old who has been at the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City since 2023.

In a different post on social media, the club added: “We areย thrilled to announce the signing of dynamic forward Trevor Mokwena from Upington City. Trevor joins the squad ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season.โ
Meanwhile, the club has also officially announced Supertech Group as their new sponsor and official motor vehicle supplier.
