Stellenbosch FC youngster joins Hapoel Kfar Saba

Stellenbosch FC and Amajita star Faiz Abrahams unveiled by Israeli side

Stellenbosch FC’s exciting winger, Faiz Abrahams, has officially made the switch to Israeli Liga Leumit side, Hapoel Kfar Saba, ahead of the new season.

The Amajita talented winger joins Hapoel Kfar Saba on a season-long loan. Abrahams was part of the SA Under-20 squad that won the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] under the tutelage of Raymond Mdaka.

The talented forward played a key role for the Cape Winelands-based reserve side in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] last campaign. He signed for Stellies’ first team in the 2024/25 season.

To top it off, Abrahams was named as the clubโ€™s DDC Player of the Season, having found the back of the net on 11 occasions.

Additionally, he made his debut for the senior team during a Betway Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs in March 2025.

HAPOEL KFAR SABA’S OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Israeli side welcomed the youngster with open arms and believe he will add value to their striking force.

“The Hapoel Football Club Kfar Saba welcomes Faiz Abrahams,” said the club in a statement. “Faiz, 20, who plays as a winger, came from Stellenbosch and South Africa’s young national team.

“Faiz is considered one of the rising talents in South Africa. He has recently won the African Championship with his national team. He expected to play in the upcoming World Cup. Good luck, Faiz.”

WHY STELLENBOSCH FC LOANED FAIZ ABRAHAMS

Meanwhile, the Steve Barker-coached club revealed why they had to loan Abrahams to the Israeli club.

“The move is aimed at providing Abrahams, a recent champion at the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with South Africa, with valuable football experience and first-team game time abroad,” reads Stellenbosch’s statement.

“Abrahams departs with the best wishes of everyone at the club. His progress and development will be keenly monitored throughout his spell in Israel.”
