The South African duo of Mpho Maruping and Sekhwela Seroto have both left Tanzanian giants Yanga SC and are linked with Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.
Their departure coincides with a shake-up in the club’s technical team. Former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Romain Folz has been appointed head coach, replacing Miloud Hamdi, who recently joined Egyptian Premier League club Ismaily. Hamdi’s interim appointment was prompted by Sead Ramovic’s sudden departure from Yanga SC midway through last season.
It is believed that Maruping, a tactical and performance analyst, is moving to Ramovic’s CR Belouizdad. He previously worked with Ramovic during his brief tenure at Yanga SC and reportedly impressed him with his exceptional work ethic.
The former AmaTuks midfielder this week bid farewell to the Jangwani giants, expressing gratitude to the club’s management.
MARUPING AND SEROTO RESIGNED FROM YANGA

FARPost can confirm that the two individuals announced this week their decision not to continue with the club. They have achieved success since joining the team during Miguel Gamondi’s tenure at Timu ya Wananchi. They secured two league titles and several cup victories while at the Jangwani giants.
Meanwhile, veteran Tunisian goalkeeper coach Majdi Mnasria, who departed Lamontville Golden Arrows last year, is expected to join Folz’s coaching staff. Renowned former AmaTuks and SuperSport United scout and performance analyst Paul Matthews will serve as assistant coach.
The club is expected to find replacements for Maruping and Seroto and to appoint a new strength and conditioning coach. They will be eager to defend the league title, which they have won consecutively for the last four seasons.
Yanga will also look to make significant progress in the CAF Champions League. Two seasons ago, they reached the quarterfinal of Africa’s premier interclub competition.
