Knowledge Musona joins Scottland

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Knowledge Musona has joined Scottland FC, where he reunites with his boyhood teammate Khama Billiat and brother, Walter Musona.

The 35-year-old was released by Saudi Pro League side Al-Okhdood at the end of the 2024/25 season. As a result, he joins the ambitious Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side, Scottland FC as a free agent.

He spent one season in Al-Okhdood’s books, where he scored five goals and provided three assists in 30 appearances. His arrival at Scottland FC has ultimately sent major waves across Zimbabwe’s PSL.

The former Chiefs gunslinger will combine with Billiat and his brother Walter in Scottland FC’s title bid in their maiden season in the elite league. Billiat and Walter Musona have been lowly in terms of goals.

Musona and Billiat are products of Harare-based Aces Youth Soccer Academy. Statistically, they were part of Zimbabweโ€™s most successful era. The duo helped The Warriors qualify for the AFCON editions in 2017, 2019 and 2021.

They will hope to reproduce the same feat at Scottland FC. The arrival of ‘The Smiling Assassin’ could inject a new energy into the team, crucially, in the remaining 11 games of the season. This will be the first time Knowledge will share the same dressing room, at club level, with his brother Walter, who played for Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership.

Details regarding the length of Musona’s contract are yet to be revealed. He will be available for selection against FC Platinum on Saturday. Musona was unveiled on Monday during half-time of Scottland FC’s clash against Yadah FC at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.

In addition, Musona’s arrival at Scottland FC comes at a crucial moment, as he is expected to be active ahead of theย 2025 AFCONย tournament.

Musona, who initially retired from international football in May 2022, rescinded his decision and is in line for the 2025 AFCON.

In South Africa, he is considered to be one of the best Zimbabwean strikers ever to grace the Betway Premiership. He scored over 40 goals with 19 assists in his name at Chiefs. Musona also accounted for multiple awards, including the coveted PSL Golden Boot Award.
