AmaZulu FC have welcomed a former Mamelodi Sundowns analyst and a former Royal AM goalkeeper coach, reinforcing their technical team ahead of the new season.ย
Usuthu have appointed Sibusiso Makitla as a performance analyst, joining the side following the exit of Tshepo Mahao, who had a brief spell with the club, having joined in March.
Makitla brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked under Rulani Mokwena during their successful stint at the Brazilians before their departure before the 2024/25 season.
He spent the last season with Moroccan Botola Pro giants Wydad Casablanca. They, and other backroom staff including Sinethemba Badela, Sibusiso Maulangu, Allan Freese, and Sean Louw, all departed the club towards the end of the previous campaign.
MAKITLA JOINED AMAZULU FC DURING PRE-SEASON CAMP IN POLOKWANE
Now embarking on a new journey, Makitla linked up with Usuthu during their pre-season camp, held in Polokwane, Limpopo.ย

He was part of the team during the KZN Premierโs Cup in Richards Bay, where AmaZulu were eliminated in the semi-finals by Gavin Huntโs Durban City FC.
Meanwhile, the Durban-based outfit has also brought on board former Royal AM goalkeeper trainer Posnett Omony, coming in as Wendell Robinsonโs replacement.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper coach, Robinson, recently departed Usuthu, ending a brief stint with the club that began in April.
He has reunited with Rulani Mokwena, who just took the reins at the Algerian club MC Alger.
Omony was unattached for a few months after his most recent spell with Royal AM, a club that no longer exists following its expulsion from the PSL.
He’s tasked with improving the goalkeeping department, which features Richard Ofori as coach Arthur Zwane’s current first choice, alongside Darren Johnson and Olwethu Mzimela.
Omony, just like Makitla, was also with the club in Richards Bay when AmaZulu took part in the KZN Premierโs Cup during the past weekend.
Meanwhile, Usuthu also announced new signings – Darren Johnson, Ryan Moon, Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya and Keegan Allan. They also confirmed players promoted from DDC – Asanda Mzobe, Onke Ncama and Minenhle Ngcobo.
