Former Kaizer Chiefs marksman Knowledge Musona has revealed what delights him most about joining the Zimbabwean Premier League.

The 35-year-old joined Scottland FC, a team making waves in Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

He was unveiled on Monday, marking his return to his motherland since the early stages of his career at ACES Youth Soccer Academy [AYSA] in Harare.

In the last 17 years, The Smiling Assassin has played in South Africa, Germany, Belgium and most recently, Saudi Arabia. And as he returns to Zimbabwe, Musona is looking at winding up his career.

WHAT KNOWLEDGE MUSONA SAID

In particular, he is excited about the prospect of playing alongside his young brother, Walter Musona, at club level. In his first interview as a Scottland FC player, Musona said one of his priorities is to push his brother, Walter, to his maximum capacity and endurance.

Walter is currently serving as the team’s captain, albeit with an underwhelming season in terms of goals. The 2024 Soccer Star of the Year and former Polokwane City FC forward has one goal after 23 matches.

“It feels great. I’ve always wanted to play with him, and for the first time, we did in the national team. And it was a good feeling because I have always wanted him to be a great player, to play better than I did, to achieve good things in his career.

“So I now get to have an opportunity to also push him and help him to do good things and grow his career. I’m looking forward and I hope that it’s going to be a good experience for him.

“And also it gives me the opportunity to show him the other side of football that maybe he has never experienced, and also not only him but all the teammates and the young stars in the team,” added the ex-Kaizer Chiefs hitman.
