Tanzanian giants Simba SC have officially confirmed the arrival of talented defender Rushine De Reuck from Mamelodi Sundowns, bolstering their squad ahead of the new season.
De Reuck is searching for a fresh start after struggling for game time in the past few seasons at Sundowns. The 29-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan in Israel with Maccabi Petah Tikva FC.
After having limited playing minutes at Maccabi, De Reuck returned home early to explore options on the African continent.
With the defender seemingly not in the plans of Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso, he completed a move to Simba ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Welcome to Simba SC, Rushine De Reuck. The Department of defence has found the right person,” said Simba in a statement on Tuesday.
De Reuck spent five seasons with the reigning Betway Premiership champions after signing in 2020 from Maritzburg United, now known as Durban City FC.
The highly-rated centre-back featured in over 70 appearances across all competitions for the Brazilians, winning a handful of major trophies, including the 2023 African Football League [AFL].
RUSHINE DE REUCK REUNITES WITH FADLU DAVIDS

Following his exit from Sundowns, De Reuck has reunited with his former coach, Fadlu Davids, at Simba. The latter coached De Reuck during their Maritzburg United days. The South African-born coach had a decent showing in his first season at Simba after finishing the previous campaign as runners-up in the league. He also led Simba to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
With Davids aiming to build a strong squad for the upcoming season, he is targeting familiar faces for the Tanzanian side.
Simba are linked with the signing of another Sundowns talent, Neo Maema, who has also struggled for game-time. The left-footed attacker is reportedly open to moving away from Masandawana to bring his career back on track.
Last season, the Maema played 17 games in all competitions and scored only one goal. The former Bloemfontein Celtic star is currently in the Bafana Bafana CHAN squad, where he’ll be looking to impress and secure a move.
