Chippa United are poised to bolster their goalkeeping department with the signing of PSL award winner Dumisani Msibi.
Msibi spent the previous season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Durban City FC, helping the club to clinch promotion to the Betway Premiership.
The talented goalie featured in 25 league matches as the KZN-based side produced a dominant display to secure the league title in the NFD.
After producing impressive performances for Durban City between the sticks, Msibi won the Goalkeeper of the Season award at the recent 2024/25 season PSL Awards. The 30-year-old beat Casric Stars shotstopper Emile Lako and Sekhoane Moerane of Orbit College FC.
At the end of last season, the former AmaTuks goalie parted ways with Durban City despite playing a key role in the club’s promotion.
DUMISANI MSIBI CLOSING IN ON CHIPPA UNITED DEAL
FARPost has learnt that Msibi has resurfaced at Chippa United, and he’s close to concluding a deal. The former SA junior international has been training with the Eastern Cape team in the pre-season.
The Gqeberha-based outfit is currently thin in the goalkeeping position, having parted ways with their second-choice keeper Darren Johnson.

The Bafana Bafana international has since moved to greener pastures after joining AmaZulu FC ahead of the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Chippa has Stanley Nwabali and the unheralded Kewen Prince as the two registered goalkeepers.
In the current transfer window, Chippa have signed Khaya Mfencane, Bandile Dlamini, Goodman Mosele, Azola Tshobeni, Abdoulaye Mariko, Sammy Seabi, and Justice Figuareido.
The Chippa Mpengesi-owned team is undergoing drastic changes after the appointment of Sinethemba Badela as the new coach, while Sinesipho Mali took over a big role as the club’s sporting director.
Badela spent the 2024/25 campaign with Wydad Casablanca in Morocco as the assistant coach to Rulani Mokwena, whereas Mali came from Sekhukhune United.
