Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards FC have completed the signing of midfielder Juan Mutudza from Caps United of Zimbabwe.
Mutudza, initially targeted by Magesi FC, has chosen the Motsepe Foundation Championship side. He has agreed to a two-year contract with Lidoda Duvha after they tabled a better offer than Magesi FC.
Caps United confirmed Mutudza’s departure via their Facebook page on Friday, their first export this season. Additionally, the talented midfielder is renowned for his deft touches on the ball, which have been a hallmark of his style.
The 30-year-old is among the few celebrated for their exceptional close control, ability to manipulate the ball in tight spaces, and graceful movement on the field.
JUAN MUTUDZA JOINS BLACK LEOPARDS FROM CAPS UNITED
Having won the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League twice with FC Platinum, Mutudza will be expected to bring a new impetus to Lidoda Duvha.
In addition, Mutudza will unite with compatriot and former CAPS United striker Clive Augusto, who joined Leopards two seasons ago.
Mutudza is one of the three Caps United stars who were angling to join the South African football circles ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Last month, Mutudza, along with Wesley Milanzi and Sean Mzinde, had a weeklong trial stint at Magesi FC. How they performed during the trials has remained a mystery, but Mutudza’s persistence has earned him a place at Black Leopards.
Milanzi and Mzinde are back in Zimbabwe as they await to learn their fate after trialling at Magesi FC. Furthermore, another Zimbabwean, Washington Navaya, has been presented with a lucrative offer by Durban City FC.
Navaya has been in fine form, having scored 11 goals in 23 matches, and is the joint top goalscorer with Billy Veremu. Durban City FC are keen on luring the reliable marksman ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
