Veteran striker Ndumiso Mabena and midfielder Tshediso Patjie are training with new PSL side The Bees FC, with the hope of securing deals for the 2025/26 season.
Mabena and Patjie are currently free agents, after parting ways with Leruma United and Kruger United, respectively.
The former Orlando Pirates frontman, Mabena, joined the now-relegated Leruma in February 2025, with expectations of helping the club survive the chop.
At Leruma, the 38-year-old forward managed to feature in seven outings across all competitions.
It was Leruma’s first campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. This comes after they bought Marumo Gallants’ status. Gallants are now competing in the Betway Premiership after successfully acquiring the status of Moroka Swallows.
Mabena comes with strong endorsements, having also played for teams like Winners Park, Platinum Stars, Royal AM, Polokwane City FC, and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Patjie played over 10 games for Kruger in the last campaign. The Mpumalanga club secured fifth place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings. This is after they accumulated 45 points after 30 games. They lost their chance to qualify for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs on the final day of the 2024/25 season.
In his football career, Patjie turned out for teams such as Mbombela United, Baroka FC, and Moroka Swallows.
