The MTN8 semi-final draw was confirmed by the Premier Soccer League [PSL] after Sunday’s quarter-final matches, with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns set for a semi-final showdown.
Pirates were the first team to book their place in the semi-finals after a 2-0 win against Polokwane City FC in Soweto on Saturday, in what was the opening game of the new 2025/26 season.
The Buccaneers secured the victory with goals from debutant Oswin Appollis as well as a Patrick Maswanganyi penalty.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United survived a first-half scare to come back from 2-0 down and secure a 3-2 win against TS Galaxy at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Stellenbosch FC were the third team to secure a spot in the semi-finals after a 3-2 win against AmaZulu FC at the DHL Stadium on Sunday.

Sundowns also progressed to the last four after an impressive 4-0 win against Richards Bay at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Both semi-final ties will consist of two legs, played on a home-and-away basis. The first-leg of the MTN8 semi-finals will take place on the weekend of 16/17 August. The second-leg will be staged on 23/24 August. Kick-off times will be confirmed in due course by the PSL

The following procedure was used for this yearโs MTN8 semi-final draw. One bowl was used for the draw, containing four balls [with the names of each semi-finalist].
The first ball out was the home team in the first fixture, while the second ball was the away team in the first fixture.
The third ball out was for the home team in the second fixture, while the fourth ball was for the away team in the second fixture.
