Betway Premiership side Chippa United has announced the return of Thulani Mini as part of the new signings unveiled on Tuesday.
The ‘Chilli Boys’ have been hard at training, preparing for their first Betway Premiership match of the 2025/26 season.
They are set to host defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Gqeberha, on Saturday.
Chippa have unveiled forward Thulani Mini as the first official signing ahead of their opening match of the season. The 23-year-old recently left Stellenbosch FC following a mutual agreement to part ways.
He joined Stellenbosch FC in 2023 and made six first-team appearances during his time in the Winelands. Mini also helped the reserve team win the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] title during the 2023/24 season.
“Thulani “Scara” Mini returns to Chippa United FC. Born and bred in Kwazakhele, Gqeberha. He’s got unfinished business for the province,” Chippa United confirmed on their social media platforms.

Chippa also confirmed the signing of former Cape Town Spurs player Khaya Mfecane. The 23-year-old can play in both the defensive and midfield positions. The former SA Junior International spent the last five years at Spurs.
“Chippa United is proud to announce the signing of Khaya Mfecane,” Chippa also announced.
“Born in Alice, King William’s Town, which is part of the Amathole District Municipality, the versatile midfielder joins us with U23 international experience under his belt. Welcome Home, Khaya.”
In addition, Chippa welcomed Thamsanqa “Shaka” Magwaza. In a statement, the club said: “Chippa United FC is proud to announce the signing of Thamsanqa ‘Shaka’ Magwaza! . Scouted in the Mbizana region, Eastern Cape, the winger will be an exciting player to watch this coming season. Mayisukume iMpuma Koloni.”
The club also announced the signing of Azola Tshobeni from Orlando Pirate on a permanent move.
Meanwhile, Chippa are expected to unveil more signings. It will also be the first official match under the guidance of Sinethemba Badela, who recently took over.
