Betway Premiership side Chippa United have officially unveiled experienced midfielders Sammy Seabi and Goodman Mosele, who are returning to the club for their second stint.
Having been without a club since February 2025 after his departure from Polokwane City FC, Seabi has now rejoined Chippa on a permanent deal.
The 30-year-old midfielder is a familiar face at the club, having played for them during the 2021/22 PSL season on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. During that time, the Bafana Bafana international made 22 appearances, scoring two goals for the Gqeberha-based side.
Throughout his career, Seabi has also played for Sekhukhune United and the now-defunct Moroka Swallows.
Meanwhile, Mosele has rejoined Chippa on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates.
The 25-year-old midfielder returns to the Chilli Boys after a difficult season with the Buccaneers, where he made just seven appearances across all competitions. This follows a successful loan spell at Chippa during the 2023/24 campaign, where he featured in 25 matches and impressed enough to be recalled by his parent club.
CHIPPA UNITED’S STATEMENT ON SAMMY SEABI AND GOODMAN MOSELE SIGNING

Chippa United expressed their excitement about having the experienced duo on board. “We are pleased to announce the permanent signing of Sammy Seabi. A true professional who will bring experience on and off the field,” reads the club’s statement. “Welcome Seabi.”
The team, coached by Sinethemba Badela, also announced the arrival of Mosele, who they believe is ready to lead the club to new heights. “We’re proud to announce the signing of Goodman ‘River-River’ Mosele on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates,” the club stated. “As Mosele hails from Qhaga, King William’s Town, he says he’s prepared to give his all in every game for the pride of the Province.”
ABDOULAYE S. MARIKO JOINS CHIPPA UNITED ON LOAN
Another player who has joined Chippa from Pirates on a season-long loan is Abdoulaye S. Mariko, who plays as a central midfielder.
“Welcome to the Chilli Boys, Abdoulaye S. Mariko, a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates,” said the club in a statement.
“The Malian midfield engine joins the family and is ready to bring the heat to the heart of the pitch. Welcome Mariko.”
On the other hand, Chippa also roped in goalkeeper Elson Ayanda Sithole, who was with Cape Town City FC last season. Sithole parted ways with the Citizens on a mutual agreement following their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of the 24-year-old goalkeeper Elson Ayanda Sithole. We wish him the best in this new Chilli chapter. Welcome, Sithole,” said the club.
Chippa has been busy in this transfer window period, as they have already acquired the services of Thulani Mini, Khaya Mfecane, Thamsanqa Magwaza, and Azola Tshobeni.
The Chilli Boys will start the new season with a match against the Betway Premiership titleholders Mamelodi Sundowns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, on Saturday, 9 August 2025.
