Siwelele FC have announced the signings of four new players, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Relebogile Mokhuoane, Thabo Makhele and Wayde Lekay, just two days before the start of the Betway Premiership.
The former Bafana Bafana defender, Mkhwanazi, has been without a club since 2022 after cutting ties with SuperSport United, who have sold their PSL status to Siwelele.
Mkhwanazi signed with Matsatsantsa at the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign on a free transfer after Bidvest Wits sold its status to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM].
The veteran centre-back left SuperSport under strained circumstances, asserting that God revealed to him the risks of taking the COVID-19 vaccine jab, which was mandatory for any player playing in the SA elite league at the time.
Meanwhile, Mokhuoane, who plays as a central midfielder, joins Siwelele after leaving Limpopo club Sekhukhune United.
The 30-year-old, Mokhuoane, signed for Babina Noko in July 2024 on a free transfer after being released by the now-relegated Cape Town City FC. At Sekhukhune, Mokhuoane managed to make 20 appearances across all competitions last season. He contributed two goals and an assist in the process.
In addition, Makhele, 30, forms part of the Siwelele from Chippa United, where he featured in 30 games in all competitions.

On the other hand, Lekay returns to South Africa to join Siwelele following his stint with the Indian side Churchill Brothers. The former TS Galaxy striker managed to play over 20 games, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists for Churchill Brothers last season.
SIWELELE FC UNVEILS NEW KITS; JOHNSON CONTINUES TO SPONSOR THE TEAM AFTER SUPERSPORT UNITED SALE
In a statement on Thursday, Siwelele said: “We are pleased to welcome Buhle Mkhwanazi, Relebogile Mokhuoane, Thabo Makhele and Wayde Lekay to the club ahead of the new season.”
Siwelele FC also unveiled their 2025/26 home and away kits, with Macron announced as their official technical sponsor. The home kit has a touch of Bloemfontein Celtic colours, which are green and white, while the away jersey is black and white.
In addition, Jonsson Workwear, which was the title sponsor for SuperSport, will sponsor Siwelele. Jonsson Workwear signed a three-year deal with Matsatsantsa in December 2022.
The sponsorship logo will continue to be placed on the front of Siwelele’s new jerseys for the 2025/26 season.
