Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande continues to make big moves after retirement, announcing a new partnership with Botswana Premier League side, Black Lions FC.
Black Lions FC are set to make their debut in the 2025/26 Botswana elite league, which kicks off on Friday, 15 August. The club is owned by businessman Tendani Sebata’s Sebata Group, which previously sponsored Township Rollers.
They secured their way into the Botswana Premier League after buying VTM FC’s top-flight status. As a result, VTM FC will be playing in the regional leagues. VTM FC is remembered for signing the former Orlando Pirates duo of Sifiso Myeni and Rooi Mahamutsa.
Black Lions FC, in their maiden season, have entrusted the former Zimbabwe international Katsande to be their clothing and apparel partner.

Katsande, a fashion enthusiast, owns a clothing brand named Boss Ya Mboka. The 39-year-old announced his partnership with Black Lions FC on Friday.
“New month, new partnership for Boss Ya Mboka. We are pleased to announce a brand new partnership with the Botswana Premier League side, the newly promoted Black Lions Football Club. We canโt wait to see you dripping in Boss Ya Mboka,” reads Katsande’s post on his official Facebook page.
In an interview with FARPost, Katsande said they have agreed on a three-year deal with Black Lions FC.
“We have engaged and agreed with Black Lions FC, and we are looking forward to providing them with travelling gear. So we will offer them travelling uniforms. We will be with them for the next three years,” Katsande told this publication.
“And we hope this deal will allow us to grow in the sport industry as a fashion brand. As you know, if you drip, you feel good; if you feel good, you do good.”
This is Katsande’s first major partnership with a professional football team. The former Sekhukhune United midfielder is also making major strides in junior football development at his Kitoko Soccer School. In addition, he is currently undergoing a CAF C coaching course to enhance his skills.
Meanwhile, Black Lions FC will be hoping to make a mark in the Botswana Premier League under the Sebata Group. Most recently, Sebata Group parted ways with Township Rollers FC due to a litany of reasons.
