One of Kaizer Chiefs’ new signings, who missed the Betway Premiership opener against Stellenbosch FC, is available for selection ahead of their midweek clash against Polokwane City FC.
Chiefs missed the services of four of their new signings, Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva, Paseka Mako and Ethan Chislett.
They beat 10-man Stellies 2-0, with goals from Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Glody Lillepo in Cape Town on Sunday. It appears that Silva and Shinga are still awaiting their international clearances. Chislett, meanwhile, applied for a South African passport, which would allow him to be registered as a local player.
The attacking midfielder left South Africa as a child and also holds a British passport. With his South African passport now issued, Chislett is eligible for selection in the upcoming match against Polokwane City. Rise and Shine visit the Soweto giants at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, with kick-off scheduled for 19h30.

It is also possible that Silva and Shinga could be available for the midweek match, with their paperwork expected this week. Mako, on the other hand, is still recovering from an injury.
WHAT CHIEFS’ ASSISTANT COACH KHALIL BEN YOUSSEF SAID ABOUT THE ABSENCE OF THE NEW SIGNINGS
Youssef, who led Chiefs in the absence of coach Nasreddine Nabi due to a family emergency, explained that paperwork issues caused the absence of their new players.
“When the new players come back to join us, it will be better, they will give us more solutions, we are waiting for them [paperwork], we continue to work,” he told the media.
Chislett is expected to compete with Gaston Sirino and Ngcobo for the 10 role. “We made only one substitution at halftime, Mshini [Ngcobo] felt some pains, so we decided together with the doctor that it’s better to make a substitution to keep him…”
Chiefs will be hoping to collect maximum points against City as they look to build some good momentum.
