Celimpilo Ngema and Thokozani Sibanyoni resurface at Kruger United

Former AmaZulu FC midfielder Celimpilo Ngema

Talented midfielder Celimpilo Ngema and forward Thokozani Sibanyoni have resurfaced at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Kruger United ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Ngema is trying his luck at the Mpumalanga club after he was sacked by Usuthu in April this year due to disciplinary issues, as previously reported by FARPost.

Before Ngema was shown the exit door by the KZN outfit last season, he had played in 14 games across all competitions and scored one goal.

In his football career, the 27-year-old Ngema also represented teams such as the now-defunct Uthongathi FC and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM]. In June, this publication also reported that Durban City was close to signing the 27-year-old, but the deal ultimately fell through.

Meanwhile, Sibanyoni, who recently had his contract terminated by TS Galaxy for undisclosed reasons, is also hoping to secure a deal with Kruger for the upcoming season, according to FARPost sources.

Surprisingly, Sibanyoni featured in the first game of the campaign for Galaxy when they lost 3-2 to Sekhukhune United in the MTN8 quarter-final tie on Saturday, August 2, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

In the last term, the 21-year-old Sibanyoni featured in 14 games and contributed three goals for the Adnan Beganovic-coached side.

OTHER NOTABLE PLAYERS SET TO SIGN WITH KRUGER UNITED

On the other hand, ex-Cape Town Spurs striker Morne Nel is also training with the team under the guidance of coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi.

Vilakazi, a former coach for Golden Arrows and AmaZulu, recently led the team in a friendly match against The Bees. While he is expected to take charge, the club has not yet officially announced his appointment.

In addition, Benin international goalkeeper Marcel Dandjinou is among the players set to be roped in by the second-tier side. Dandjinou, 27, was in the books of JDR Stars, who sold their Motsepe Foundation Championship status to a Limpopo businessman, Lister Makatoane.

As a result, JDR has been renamed to Leicesterford City FC.

The 2025/26 Motsepe Foundation Championship season is set to start on Friday, 22 August 2025.
