Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has spoken about the team’s ambitions for the 2025/26 season, revealing  what the club is aiming to achieve.

The Glamour Boys have had a perfect start to the new season after winning both their opening matches in the Betway Premiership. Chiefs opened the campaign with a convincing 2-0 win over Stellenbosch FC, followed by a 1-0 victory against Polokwane City FC.

After a promising start, Amakhosi are sitting second on the league table with six points as they look to improve from their ninth-place finish last season.

Despite the inconsistent form in the league, Chiefs made a good impression in the 2025 Nedbank Cup, ending their 10-year trophy drought. They beat arch-rivals Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the cup final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in May.

With the Naturena-based outfit aiming to reclaim their title as South African ‘Cup Kings’, Ben Youssef has revealed that the team is gunning for all trophies.

Ben Youssef has been leading the team alongside the second assistant coach Cedric Kaze in the absence of head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who is on a family leave.

“To be honest with you, we don’t have any pressure; we take it game by game, but we are a big team, and every competition we play in, we must win that competition,” Ben Youssef said.

“We don’t have pressure, but for sure we will compete for all trophies, we just need to take it game by game. Our targets are clear, we are Kaizer Chiefs, we are not here to be in the middle of the table or just to enjoy.

“So we are here to win all the titles, but we as a club don’t want to be under pressure. We won our first two games, and there are still 28 games left, and we must win every competition we play in.”
