Agent provides update on Botswana international amidst PSL move

Thero Setsile in action for Jwaneng Galaxy FC

Tshepo More, agent of Botswana international Thero Setsile, has provided an update on his client’s future amid a potential move to the Betway Premiership.

The versatile winger was recentlyย released by the Botswana giants, Jwaneng Galaxy FC. FARPostย has it on good authority that Setsile and Jwaneng cut ties amicably on Sunday, 17 August 2025.

Interestingly, the 29-year-old Setsile featured in Jwaneng’s first game of the new season this past Saturday, where they comfortably secured a 3-0 win over Morupule Wanderers FC at Galaxy Stadium.

Setsile has been a key player for Jwaneng, having made over 25 appearances across all competitions in the 2024/25 season.

He also set himself apart by ranking as the second-highest goal-scorer in the Botswana Premier League. He scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in the last term.

According to reports, the gifted attacking midfielder is set to join the Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune following his release from Jwaneng.

WHAT THERO SETSILE’S AGENT SAID ABOUT THE LINKS TO SEKHUKHUNE UNITED

The agent said he had not spoken to Babina Noko about his clientโ€™s future. But did confirm interest from another club in the South African elite league.

“You know, just to clarify, Thero Setsile has been released from Jwaneng Galaxy by mutual agreement, with a potential move to play in South Africa,” said More in an exclusive interview with FARPost.

“However, all the news circulating on social media that the boy is set to join Sekhukhune is false. There is nothing that indicates Thero is not going to Sekhukhune. We have never engaged with Sekhukhune, but there is a potential move that is supposed to happen in South Africa.

“However, revealing the name of the team that he is most likely to join would be unfair to my client and the club as well.”

Meanwhile, Setsile has been selected for Botswana’s preliminary squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Mighty Zebras, coached by South African coach Morena Ramoreboli, will face Algeria on Thursday, 4 September. They will take on Mozambique on Monday, 8 September. Both games will be played away from home.
