Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has given his take on the club’s new signing, Kamogelo Sebelebele, following the player’s impressive start to life with the Soweto giants.
Newcomer Sebelebele has made an immediate impact in Pirates colours, scoring two crucial goals in his first 208 minutes of play – four matches in all competitions. The winger’s goals came in consecutive games, highlighting his quick adjustment and value to the team.
The versatile player, who can operate as both a right-back and a right-winger, has already made his mark and is quickly becoming a fan favourite at Pirates.
He netted a late equaliser in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg against Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday. Sebelebele followed that up with the winning goal in Pirates’ 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC, securing the club’s first league win under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou in the new 2025/26 season.
His impressive performance against Stellenbosch at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday also earned him the Man of the Match award.
Joining the Buccaneers in July, Sebelebele came off a breakout season with TS Galaxy, where he made 29 appearances and scored five goals.

PIRATES COACH OUADDOU HAILS SEBELEBELE’S WORK ETHIC
Ouaddou praised Sebelebele’s dedication, describing him as a focused and hard-working player with the potential to develop into a major talent for Pirates.
The Bucs coach also added that he is confident that Sebelebele won’t be overwhelmed by his rise to stardom.
“He is just a fantastic player, a well-educated player, professional and very humble. So, I don’t think I have much to tell him. He knows his job, he knows what to do,” said Ouaddou. “In football, I always say to my players, humility is one of the most important qualities for a professional football player.
“As soon as you stop learning, you stop improving. He is the type of guy who works hard every day since he joined the club. “He doesn’t complain. You can see I put him on the right back, also I put him as a winger, and he’s always giving his best.
“He is the type of player that we want to have in the team, and he has done a fantastic job.”
Sebelebele will be looking to continue his impressive goal-scoring form when Pirates face Sundowns in the second-leg of the MTN8 quarter-final this Saturday afternoon at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
