Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks has completed a massive squad overhaul ahead of the new season, bringing in 18 new players, including Abel Mabaso, Luvuyo Phewa and Aphelele Teto.
The Tshwane-based outfit has been working hard behind the scenes under the new leadership of Kwanele Kopo, with Machete Moloto set to assist in the 2025/26 season.
Kopo takes over the coaching reins at the University of Pretoria from Tlisane Motaung. The latter cut ties with the club in June 2025. This came after the AmaTuks decided not to renew his contract for the upcoming campaign.
Under the guidance of Motaung, the club qualified for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs two times, during the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons, but failed to gain promotion to the Betway Premiership.
Former Orlando Pirates defensive midfielder Mabaso joins the side as a free agent, as he has been without a club since July 2024 after parting ways with Richards Bay FC.
Teto forms part of the Tshwane club after his loan spell at Chippa United from Livingston FC ended, while Phewa signed for the club following his stint with newly promoted Betway Premiership side Durban City FC.
Experienced defender Vusi Sibiya joins Tuks on a free transfer after leaving Marumo Gallants. Meanwhile, talented forward Prince Nxumalo is roped into the club from JDR Stars, who sold their status to Leicesterford City FC.

The other 13 players that have been signed by Tuks are: Thando Buthelezi, Sifiso Mazibuko, Thabo Nkwana, Sbonga Mgwaba, Sifiso Mbidana, Kamohelo Hoala, Onele Rulwana, Thulani Zandamela, Bantu Chingi, Tokollo Makgolane, Lesego Sebetlela, Jordan Allies, and Akhanyile Norawana.
