AmaZulu FC have sent two of their players on loan to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Kruger United in a move aimed at giving them more playing time in the new season.
One of the two players is Yanga Mjoli, a 21-year-old defender who was promoted to the AmaZulu first team after an impressive showing in the 2023/24 DStv Diski Challenge [DDC].
This is his third loan spell, following stints with Pretoria Callies for the first half of the 2024/25 season and then Marumo Gallants for the latter six months of the same campaign The former Usuthu DDC captain was initially loaned out after he had seemingly not done enough to make the cut in the squad of head coach Arthur Zwane.
The second loanee, midfielder Leonardo Rooi, was also sent out on loan in the middle of last season, although he joined a different club in Durban City FC, who eventually won the second-tier title last campaign, gaining automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership.
Rooi enjoyed only 123 minutes of game time at Durban City, where he participated only in their Nedbank Cup fixtures.
MJOLI AND ROOI MOVE TO KRUGER UNITED

After returning to AmaZulu for pre-season training ahead of the new 2025/26 season, two players continued to struggle to make their mark on the highly competitive squad. As a result, FARPost has been reliably informed that both players have been offered to Kruger United on a season-long loan deal. And according to sources, the NFD side agreed to take the two Usuthu players.
Like many budget-strained NFD teams, the Mpumalanga-based club is aiming to fight for promotion with the help of loan players from the Betway Premiership.
With these two acquisitions, Kruger will now look to gun for a better and stronger finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after having finished in fifth place last season.
On the other hand, while they aim to prove themselves worthy of coach Zwaneโs trust, Rooi and Mjoli will also be tasked with helping their new club’s promotion to South Africaโs first-tier league.
Kruger will start their new campaign with an away clash against Upington City FC on Saturday afternoon at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium in Upington, Northern Cape.
