TS Galaxy march on as Richards Bay, Stellies record first wins

TS Galaxy secured their second consecutive win, while Richards Bay FC and Stellenbosch FC both registered their first victories of the new 2025/26 season on Tuesday night.

Seluleko Mahlambi was the hero of the night as TS Galaxy dispatched Betway Premiership newbies Siwelele FC 2-0 at the Mbombela Stadium.

The Rockets were determined to continue with their good run after beating Chippa United 4-1 in their previous match. Their oppoents Siwelele FC lost 1-0 to Polokwane City FC.

In this one, TS Galaxy surged ahead after 22 minutes courtesy of a goal by Mahlambi. The lattei made it two for Galaxy, completing his brace in the 45th minute of the game.

After the win, the Tim Sukazi-led club moved to fifth position with six points from four matches. Additionally, Siwelele FC dropped to 12th position.

GABADINHO MHANGO’S GOAL WINS IT FOR RICHARDS BAY FC

At the Prince Magogo Stadium, Gabadinho Mhango scored the solitary goal Richards Bay needed to account for their maiden win of the 2025/26 season.

Having both lost their previous assignments, Richards Bay and Chippa United were battling tooth and nail to walk away with all three points.

Richards Bay lost 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs while The Chilli Boys were humiliated at home by TS Galaxy in a 4-1 loss.

Mhango broke the deadlock for the The Natal Rich Boys on the stroke of half-time. They went to the break leading courtesy of Mhango’s goal. His goal was enough to seal the win as they defended it gallantly.

As a result, Richards Bay have moved to 13th position on the log table, while Chippa United are rooted at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table.

STELLENBOSCH FC FINALLY GET IT RIGHT

At the Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch secured their first set of maximum points after edging Marumo Gallants 1-0.

In their previous matches, Stellenbosch lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates while Marumo Gallants lost 1-0 to AmaZulu FC. And after failing to breach each other in the first-half, Stellies surged ahead in the 46th minute through Langelihle Phili.

And that was all they needed to account for the scalp of Gallants. As a result, they moved to 11th position with four points while Gallants are sixth with six points.

In the other match played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane City FC and Durban City FC settled for a 0-0 draw.

Polokwane City, confident after their 1-0 win against Siwelele FC, were hoping to secure a second consecutive victory. Their opponents, Durban City, were coming off a 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows.

However, neither team could break the deadlock, and the match ended in a draw, forcing them to share the points. The result leaves Durban City in third place with eight points, while Polokwane City is in ninth place with five points.
