With 60,000 tickets already sold out, Kaizer Chiefs have issued an important update ahead of Wednesday night’s crucial Betway Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Amakhosi, who are yet to drop points in the new 2025/26 season, welcome Sundowns at FNB Stadium. Kick off is 19h30.
Chiefs confirmed that there will be no tickets sold at the stadium on match day. They further stated that the gates will open at 16:30 and advised fans to “arrive early to avoid any delays.”
“No tickets will be sold at the stadium on match day. Please make sure you secure your ticket in advance,” reads the Chiefs statement.
The club went on to reveal that an “initial 60,000 tickets for the match have been sold out.” The Soweto giants has since released an additional 15,000 tickets. “Following careful consideration and a consultation process with relevant stakeholders, we are pleased to release an additional 15,000 tickets for sale.”

CHIEFS AIM FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN IN SUNDOWNS TIE
Chiefs are currently second on the league table after winning their first three matches of the season. The Soweto giants secured victories over Stellenbosch FC [2-0], and had 1-0 wins over both Richards Bay and Polokwane City FC.
For the crucial match against Sundowns, Chiefs will also be boosted by the return of head coach Nasreddine Nabi. The team played its first three games of the season without him.
The Tunisian coach had been in his home country to attend to his wife following what the club called a “serious accident.” In his absence, assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze took charge of the team.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi’s opponents, Sundowns, head into this match on the back of a disappointing MTN8 semi-final exit, where they lost to Orlando Pirates in a penalty shootout over the weekend. In the Betway Premiership, Sundowns has had a solid start with two wins and a draw, but their current fourth-place position is unfamiliar for the side that has won the last eight league titles in a row.
