Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has shed light on Relebohile Mofokeng’s absence in their 1-0 win over Orbit College FC in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday night.
A goal from Lebone Seema secured a 1-0 victory for Orlando Pirates over Orbit College at Orlando Stadium. The win marks the Buccaneers’ second consecutive league victory, following their win against Stellenbosch FC last Wednesday.
The Buccaneers have seemingly turned the corner after having a dismal start to the 2025/26 season, where they lost the first two matches against Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants.
Meanwhile, Pirates came to the clash against Orbit fresh from booking a spot in the MTN8 final final where they face Stellenbosch next month.
Relebohile Mofokeng was a notable absentee from the matchday squad against Orbit College, watching the game from the stands with the rest of the reserves. This was the talented winger’s first missed match of the season, as he has been a key part of coach Ouaddou’s plans.
ABDESLAM OUADDOU REVEALS THAT MOFOKENG MISSED THE ORBIT COLLEG GAME DUE TO INJURY

So far this season, the Bafana Bafana international has featured in six appearances across all competitions.
Mofokeng played the entire game when Pirates knocked Sundowns out of the MTN8 semi-final with a 4-1 win on penalties in the second-leg on Saturday.
After the highly-rated attacker’s surprise absence, the former Marumo Gallants mentor revealed that Mofokeng missed the Orbit match due to an injury.
“About Rele, unfortunately, I have to discuss with my medical department, they communicated with me that he cannot be part of the game,” Ouaddou said.
“But we still don’t have full feedback on the exam that he should do. I hope it’s nothing serious because we need him.”
The 20-year-old has also been linked with a transfer move to the Major League Soccer [MLS] side Minnesota United in the past few days.
