Sekhukhune United settled for a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu FC, while Golden Arrows defeated Magesi FC in their respective Betway Premiership matches on Wednesday night.
Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya broke the deadlock for Usuthu in the 17th minute of the game at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The game went into the half-time break with the KwaZulu-Natal side leading Babina Noko with a 1-0 scoreline.
Arthur Zwane’s side never gave the hosts, Sekhukhune, time to regain their momentum in the second stanza, as they mostly took command of the showdown.
Nonetheless, opportunities were few for both teams as the match neared its end.
Unfortunately, Sekhukhune levelled matters in the 86th minute with a goal from former Chippa United man Ronaldo Maarman.
AmaZulu are now placed sixth on the table with seven points, while Sekhukhune United remains at the top of the log standings with 10 points. Both sides have played four games so far.
In addition, AmaZulu finished the game with one man down after Riaan Hanamub received a red card in the stoppage time of the second half.

The visitors, Magesi, were the first side to find the back of the net through Mcedi Vandala in the 10th minute of the contest.
However, Magesi’s joy was short-lived as Arrows found an equaliser just a minute after the restart, courtesy of Junior Dion.
Both sides fought hard to secure maximum points, but Arrows were the better team on the day as they scored a second goal by Siphelele Dlamini.
In the end, Arrows walked away with maximum points in Umlazi against Magesi. Arrows are now fifth in the Betway Premiership table, while the Limpopo club find themselves at the bottom,[15th place] of the log standings.
