Sekhukhune United are finalising the signing of midfielder Momelezi Dlambewu, a player who was recently part of the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2025 CHAN tournament held in Kampala, Uganda.

The midfielder, who plays for the newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side Gomora United, recently caught the eye of coach Molefi Ntseki and was part of the Bafana Bafana squad at the recent 2025 CHAN tournament in Kampala, Uganda.

Despite not featuring in the matches, Babina Noko had been tracking him. The attacking midfielder, who excels at exploiting half-spaces and can also play on the wing, is on the verge of signing with Sekhukhune.

Indications are that the club has long-term plans and will be part of their DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] team as his development continues. Babina Noko are said to have offered a long-term contract to the talented attacker.

Dlambewu, who also played for TS Galaxy in the DDC, is one of several new faces at Sekhukhune as the club makes a strong statement in the current transfer window. The Limpopo-based side is adding strategic talent to build on its consistent performance in the Premiership and secure a return to continental competition.

Despite parting ways with coach Lehlohonolo Seema last season, Sekhukhune remained a force, narrowly missing a top-three finish after a strong campaign under coach Eric Tinkler.

The club has been one of the most active in the market, bringing in a host of new players to address last season’s weaknesses. These signings, which include Miguel Timm, Bradley Grobler, and Sphiwe Mahlangu, among others, are a clear sign of their intent.

The new additions are already making an impact, with Grobler scoring four goals in eight appearances across all competitions. The veteran striker’s strong start has helped Sekhukhune climb to the top of the log standings, with four wins and a single draw in their first five league games.

And as the league takes a break for the FIFA international window, the team will be looking to maintain its excellent form when the season resumes.
