Betway Premiership side Chippa United has shockingly terminated the contract of ex-Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Keabetswe Ramotsei following the exit of Sinethemba Badela.
The Chilli Boys parted ways with Badela, who was appointed as the club’s head coach in the off-season to replace Thabo September.
Badela was in charge of Chippa for only one match, where they played to an entertaining draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in the first match of the current 2025/26 season.
The former Wydad Casablanca assistant was shown the exit door after a reported fallout with the sporting director, Sinesipho Mali, over the transfer of players, among other things.
Following the departure of Badela, former Sundowns attacker Keabetswe Ramotsei has had his contract terminated.
RAMOTSEI LEAVES CHIPPA UNITED AFTER TWO MONTHS
According to information received by this publication, Ramotsei has been deemed ‘Badela’s boy’ and cannot stay with the Gqeberha-based side while the coach is no longer with the club.
The talented youngster worked with Badela during their time at Sundowns in the DStv Diski Challenge before reuniting at Chippa a few months ago.

Ramotsei signed with Chippa United on a free transfer after parting ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC at the end of the last season.
The utility player initially joined Venda FC on loan from Sundowns in July 2024; however, the Brazilians terminated his contract in the January 2025 transfer window.
“Keabetswe Ramotsei is well on his way out of Chippa United because he has been told that he’s not in the club’s plans anymore,” a source said.
“The situation has been a challenging one for the player because, since arriving at the club, he’s always been struggling to get his salary. But the fact that he is a player whom coach Badela signed, the club felt that they can’t keep him with the coach no longer with Chippa.”
