Rwanda National Team coach Adel Amrouche has shared his insights on Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, regarding his current situation at the club and his future prospects.

Ntwari was outstanding in the 1-0 loss to the Super Eagles in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.

The Amavubi’s number one goalkeeper made several impressive saves, keeping his team in the match until the hosts scored in the 50th minute through Tolu Arokodare.

With this victory, Nigeria moved into third place with 10 points and is set to face a crucial away match against the table leaders, South Africa, who have 16 points, on Tuesday.

Interestingly, Ntwari has yet to feature for his club this season, while Brandon Petersen has kept five consecutive clean sheets. Last season, the former TS Galaxy goalie played the first seven matches and has not appeared for the Soweto giants in a competitive game. Nonetheless, his national team coach has continued to trust him.

WHAT AMROUCHE SAID ABOUT FIACRE NTWARI’S KAIZER CHIEFS FUTURE

“It’s a challenging situation because I see Fiacre Ntwari in our national team, and to me, he is one of the best goalkeepers in Africa. Yet he is not playing for his club,” Amrouche told FARPost.

“It’s a huge challenge, but we trust him completely and he always delivers for us. His recent performance against Nigeria showed everyone what he is capable of, and I will never hesitate to field him.”

The Belgian-Algerian coach advised the 25-year-old goalkeeper to stay positive and be patient for his opportunity. He firmly believes that the former TS Galaxy goalkeeper will have a remarkable career with the Soweto Giants.

“Kaizer Chiefs have a good goalkeeper in Fiacre. Joining a big team like Chiefs demands good adaptation. He joined a team that had just brought in a new technical team. The team had not performed well for a long time and was not doing very well, so it was not just him. I’ve told him he needs to stay focused, remain professional, and train hard. When his chance comes again, I know he will prove to everyone that he is the best. This will certainly be his season.”

Meanwhile, Amrouche noted there were positives in his team’s performance, but said he was disappointed to lose to the Super Eagles. “When we lose, we are not happy. I am not happy because the Super Eagles defeated my team.”

He will now turn his focus to the upcoming clash against Zimbabwe and is confident they will secure a positive result. The Warriors will host the match at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon [15:00].
