Kaizer Chiefs marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung has shared her thoughts on the club’s impressive start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

Amakhosi have been one of the in-form clubs in the new season, making a big statement about their intention to challenge for all trophies on offer.

After an impressive start to the season, Chiefs currently sit in second place on the league table. They have 13 points from their first five matches, with four wins and one draw, and are level on points with leaders Sekhukhune United, who have a superior goal difference.

The Soweto giants have also maintained a perfect defensive record in the league, keeping five clean sheets in all their matches so far.

In addition, the club’s recent form has been fueled by the signing of 11 new players in the off-season, which has seemingly improved the quality of the squad.

Chiefs signed Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Luke Baartman, Flavio Silva, Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, Etiosa Ighodaro, Asanele Velebayi, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebohang Maboe, and recently added Khanyisa Mayo on loan from CR Belouizdad.

Jessica Motaung has admitted that the team is now poised to win more trophies, having ended their 10-year drought by clinching the Nedbank Cup just a few months ago.

“I think the floodgates are now open, you can see how the team started, the energy is different,” Motaung said.

“The mood is different, not just with players but with supporters as well, so it’s great that Chiefs winning also allows other people to win.

“For us, winning should also benefit other people, and going to see the community of Springs benefitting like this is really empowering,” she added after Chiefs, in partnership with Nedbank, handed over a multipurpose sports court to Phulong Secondary School in Kwa-Thema, Springs most recently.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys will return to league action after the FIFA international break on the 16th of September against Sekhukhune United at the FNB Stadium in Soweto.
