Betway Premiership side Siwelele FC has bolstered its attack with the signing of Nigerian forward Chibuike Ohizu from Sekhukhune United.
Ohizu had fallen out of favour at Babina Noko and was recently linked with a move away as the 2025/26 season continues to gain momentum with the club at the summit of the Betway Premiership after five games.
Following a possible misunderstanding with Sekhukhune coach Eric Tinkler, the 28-year-old forward was asked to train with the club’s Diski Challenge team. The two parties then sought to find a solution, discussing the possibility of a loan with Golden Arrows and Siwelele.
The uncertainty about his future persisted despite his having signed a new contract with the club towards the end of last season. He was initially due to be out of contract at the end of last season, but the club decided to retain him, extending his contract for two years, keeping him at the club until June 2027.
In fact, Ohizu came close to making a switch to Algerian giants MC Alger last season, but the deal collapsed.

CHIBUIKE OHIZU REUNITES WITH LEHLOHONOLO SEEMA AT SIWELELE FC
Regarding his situation with Tinkler, the club has agreed on a loan deal that will see him play for Siwelele for the remainder of the season. The fact that Siwelele head coach Lehlohonolo Seema is someone he has previously worked with at Sekhukhune makes the transition easier.
Ohizu is hoping for more game time at his new club. Since Bradley Grobler’s arrival, Ohizu’s chances of playing regularly have decreased. He has started two matches across all competitions for Sekhukhune and made four substitute appearances.
The striker has been with Sekhukhune since 2020, having joined them from Jomo Cosmos, who are now competing in the amateur ranks – the ABC Motsepe League. He has scored 30 goals and contributed three assists in 117 appearances.
