Katlego Otladisa resurfaces at Betway Premiership side

Following his exit from Orlando Pirates, talented winger Katlego Otladisa has resurfaced at another Betway Premiership side in hopes of landing a new contract for the 2025/26 season.

The 28-year-old winger joined the Soweto giants in 2023 after an impressive season at Marumo Gallants. In his last season at Gallants, Otladisa featured in a total of 43 games in all competitions, providing six assists.

However, at Pirates, he found it difficult to replicate the form that made him a key player at Gallants in a highly competitive squad led by former coach Jose Riveiro. His time at the Buccaneers was challenging, as he struggled to secure playing time, featuring in only 12 games across all competitions.

After a tough time finding his place in the Pirates setup, Otladisa was loaned out to Sekhukhune United during the January 2025 transfer window. With his six-month-long loan deal having elapsed, Otladisa returned to his parent club. Weeks after returning from the loan spell, the Soweto giants announced their decision to release him.

WHERE IS OTLADISA NOW?

Since then, the former Bucs winger has been linked to several Betway Premiership clubs. However, FARPost has been reliably informed that the winger has been training with newly promoted Betway Premiership side, Durban City FC.

A close source from the club has told this publication that Otladisa arrived for his first training session on Saturday.

“Otladisa arrived in training this past Saturday and is certainly a player who interests the coach,” confirmed a Durban City source. The KZN club is also in talks with Cape Town City FC over the signature of Luphumlo ‘Kaka’ Sifumba. They wanted to secure the 20-year-old midfielder on loan.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Terrence Mashego arrived on Wednesday and reportedly trained with the Durban side after the two clubs agreed on a loan deal. Mashego is expected to play his football at the newly promoted side, formerly known as Maritzburg United.
