Orbit College FC striker Letsie Koapeng has announced his surprise departure from the newly promoted Betway Premiership side.
Koapeng was the hero of the North West club’s promotion campaign last season. The 33-year-old striker played a pivotal role in their successful journey through the Motsepe Foundation Championship, which culminated in a victory in the PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoffs.
He scored the all-important goal against Cape Town City FC in Rustenburg that sealed their promotion to the elite league.
However, the former Marumo Gallants, Orlando Pirates and Moroka Swallows player leaves the club despite making three appearances out of a possible five with a goal to his name for the club this season.

But Koapeng took to his Instagram platform on Friday to announce his departure from the club. He described the decision to part ways as one of the hardest.

โSometimes the hardest decisions are the ones you make for your own peace,โ wrote Koapeng.
โIt’s no secret that things took a bit of an uncomfortable turn for me recently, and after deep reflection, I’ve decided it’s time for me to move on. I’ve always given my absolute best every time I stepped onto the field, and I leave with my head held high, knowing I gave my heart to the badge.
โTo those who feel let down, I sincerely apologise, that was never my intention. I just did what I believed was best for me and my family. I wish things could’ve gone differently. I wish we could’ve achieved even more together with more time,โ he said.
โTo my teammates, we made history together!! I’ll forever be proud of that fact and of each one of you. To the coaching and support staff- from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your unwavering belief in me, your guidance, and your constant support have been a pillar in my journey. I am truly grateful for everything you’ve done.โ
