Orlando Pirates trialist Chimzulam Collins Nwoburuoke is set to complete a move to PSL side Durban City FC after spending the past few days training with the Buccaneers.
The KZN-based outfit is looking to continue bolstering its squad after gaining promotion to the Betway Premiership ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Durban City clinched automatic promotion to the top-flight after winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship title in the previous campaign.
After securing a spot in the Premiership, Durban City made several changes, including in the coaching department, where they roped in Gavin Hunt as a head coach to replace Simo Dladla.
Ernst Middendorp also joined Hunt as the club’s technical director as they look to cement their elite league position. Hunt has already signed Darren Keet, Thabo Nodada, Haashim Domingo, Patrick Autata, Brooklyn Poggenpoel, Trevor Mokwena, Kyle Jurgen, and Liam De Kock.
Andย Durban City are seemingly not done with their transfer business as they are set to sign Collins Nwoburuoke. The central defender is set to make a move to the KZN side after spending a few days training with Pirates, where he was looking to impress and pen a deal.
COLLINS NWOBURUOKE STOPPED TRAINING WITH PIRATES

Nwoburuoke has stopped training with the Soweto giants, and he is now at Durban City with a move imminent. A source close to the situation has revealed that the defender has arrived in KZN.
“Chimzulam Collins Nwoburuoke has stopped training with Orlando Pirates. He is on his way to join Durban City,” a source privy to the information told FARPost.
“At the moment, it’s just small details that need ironing, and the deal with be go over the line. He’s a good player who is definitely going to add value to Durban City.”
Interestingly, Durban City assessed the towering defender in the off-season before deciding against signing him. In a sensational twist, the Farook Kadodia team has made a U-turn on their decision.
They are finalising a move for Collins Nwoburuoke.
