Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana defender Tefu Mashamaite has been appointed as head coach of Limpopo club Phalaborwa United.

Phalaborwa United were recently promoted to the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League after winning the provincial playoffs held last month.

The ambitious side has bolstered its squad with former PSL players like Wiseman Maluleke and Rhulani Manzini. It appears the team’s goal is to assemble a squad capable of competing for a spot in the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, which provide an opportunity to secure promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

On Tuesday, Phalaborwa United announced the appointment of former PSL Footballer of the Season, Mashamaite, as the new man in charge.
